Name: Remy LeBeau
Friends call him Gambit
Gender: Male
Rank
*Division: 3
*Seat: Vice-Captain.
Personality: Remy, out side of battle, is calm; almost uncaring in his demeanor. I should note that uncaring isn't that he dose not care at all; rather it means that he does not let a lot bother him. He would rather sit down to a good game of cards then let most things bother him. But, he is slightly a ladies man as he was even as a human; a trait sadly carried with him after death. This dose carry over into his fights; for if he sees a female in trouble he has been known to barge in without thinking much to rescue them.
While in battle, Remy does like to insert gambling phrases into his taunts while he is fighting. His personality changes slightly during battle though he does carry his non-chalant attitude with him. He tends to become very cold, though, if he sees someone hurting another women. He is also very calculating as he fights though he does tend to like to blow things up during his fights. He holds up his ideals and his honor very seriously. Doesn't get mad very often but he did keep his Cajun temperament with him after he died; so if you offend him or break one of his codes of honor, or such, he WILL come after you.
Appearance: As mentioned above Remy LeBeau is around 6 ft. tall and weighs around 200 lb. His hair is red, and slightly long at that. Even though its slightly long; his hair is worn up but slightly combed over to one side. This gives it the appearence that it comes off his head at an angle. His eyes would be his most predominate feature; being that they have a black sclera and red iris. This is what led the Thieves Guild to call him 'le diable blanc" in his early childhood.
Remy wears a suit of highly articulated light body armor rather than the typical outfit worn by the rest of the Shinigami; this being a reference to his years as a professional thief and a member of the Thieves Guild. A notable feature of his armor would be that the top piece is a dull red in color but the areas that cover his arms and upper thighs is black. The areas covering his shins are more shiny in color almost like a painted aluminum. Worn over this is normally a brown leather trench coat. Remy, On his hands, wears gloves that he has removed the thumb, pointer finger, and pinky of; leaving only the two middle fingers covered. This was done while he was still human because of his reiatsu charging abilities. The gloves are black in color. The only other piece of clothing that Remy wears is a head piece that covers most of his face. *see sig below cause I'm not sure how to describe this one.*Remy on his feet wears a pair of black military style boots.
Zanpakutô Spirit: Kisaki (Queen)
Remy's sword spirit is the embodiment of luck. From outward appearance's she looks like any other queen from medieval times; but for Remy she is the Queen of Hearts. The very symbol of his childhood, for the queen is what saved him and his best friend from the Pig. (The card he picked up and threw)
The world where the spirit lives resembles a casino from Vegas. As such the queen does have a nasty gambling habit, but a good amount of luck. The casino has your usual assortment of Slot machines, but the main attraction is the assortment of poker and blackjack tables. Remy normally finds the queen at the blackjack table whenever he comes to her world, but his tastes are more for poker.
She tends to put off Remy whenever he shows up till her hand is over with; then she will chat with him. Though that does not mean that they have a bad relationship with each other. In fact the queen likes Remy a lot, and has helped him through a lot of his ninjutsu training. For the most part she is happy-go-lucky, but Remy will be the first to tell you she can be a tough task master during training.
Sealed Zanpakutô : Gambit's Sealed sword is approximately 3 and a half feet long. It is a straight sword unlike most samurai swords which are slightly curved. It is not steel in appearance rather it has a dark blue hue to it; being almost black in color. The hilt is made from Bamboo and painted black. This is then covered in a wrap made from cloth; which is also dyed black. This gives the over all sword a very dark look to it.
Remy wears it on his back, in a sheath, similar to how ninjas would wear their swords. This was done not only in honor of the training he received in ninjitsu, but also for his history with the Thieves Guild. The sheath is worn on his back at an angle that puts the handle of his sword right above his right shoulder; with the bottom of the sheath in the bottom left of his back sticking out slightly. Overall the sheath is black in color, but with a red length of cloth ribbon that is used to tie the sheath around Remy. The sheath dose have a weight at the bottom of it in order to aid in the drawing of the sword. (If it wasen't there the sheath would pick up whenever the sword was drawn from that position.)
Shikai Description: Spec: Speed
The sword, which is held horizontally for the release, extends out to approximately 1.8 meters in length; and turns into a Bo-staff. Unlike typical Bo staffs though it is made from metal and not wood giving it better qualities against sword based weapons. It retains the dark blue hue as its color, like the blade of his sword. It lacks any markings on the staff, save for a leather hand grip in the middle.
The sheath is still worn diagonally on his back; though with his sword release it changes from black to red, and the cloth strap changes to black in color. With the color change, though, Japanese characters are revealed on the side. They read, "Luck be with me" as a homage to Remy's luck given to him from the Queen.
Abilities - Ka-do surou - "Card throw" When the staff is swung in an arc in front of Remy; 3 objects, resembling playing cards, are released from the end of the staff. This arc can be made in any direction as long as it is in front of Remy, (ex. vertically, horizontally, diagonally) These are not real cards, per say, but rather pure reaitsu energy. They fly out approximately 200 meters from Remy and explode. However, if they hit any object before that distance they will explode upon impact. The explosion is equal to approximately 1 stick of dynamite. Remy, to some extent, can control their direction (similar to how Ishida controls his arrows, but not as effectively).
The second ability I was thinking of is, well not an active ability, per say, but more of an innate ability going back to his ability of charging inanimate objects with reaitsu energy. Remy can charge his staff with reaitsu either as an added defense against weapons or, if he slams either end of his staff on the ground, to cause an explosion on the ground meant to blow people or objects backward. The size of the explosion is, of course, directly related to the amount of reaitsu charged into the staff. The distance that people are thrown backwards, though, is related more on out side factors. This being like how close they are to the central explosion, any objects they may go crashing through, abilities they may have, etc.
Release: Denka Kisaki - "Charge Queen"
Bankai: e-su supe-do "Ace of Spades"
Bankai Appearance: When Bankai is said Remy's zanpaktou dissolves into himself completely disappearing from sight. However
Remy's reaitsu grows stronger and his speed is greatly Increased. Remy really does not have a true weapon in this form
for direct attacks he can manifest pure reaitsu cards which cover the palms of his hands allowing him a defense or an
offense. Whichever is needed at the time. As well as a speed almost as fast as Ichigo's.
Bankai Abilities:
Main ability his Ka-do Surou "Card throw" ability is enhanced. Remy can fire pure reaitsu cards from his hands, granted it may only be one at a time from each hand but can be fired in rapid succession.
This rapid fire is limited to 25 cards from each hand before Remy needs to take a few minutes to recharge. During this cool down Remy can still summon cards to his hands to aid in defense or offense (punches and hand strikes)
but can not be fired at opponent. For his new ability, Ka-do arashi "Card storm" For this ability Remy creates two decks worth of reaitsu cards in his hands; one deck to each hand. After decks have formed they get sprayed at his opponent
each card blowing up on contact, with Remy coming in after the cards have all detonated with a roundhouse kick to his opponent.
History/Background: Remy LeBeau was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was kidnapped from the hospital where he was raised by the LeBeau Clan Thieves' Guild and given to the Antiquary as tribute. He had been stolen from the hospital; for the Thieves guild believed him to be a sign. A prophesy in their early history had stated that a "Child would be born with devils eyes, for he will unite the Thieves and Assassins under one banner" for this reason when he had been born he had been taken from the hospital.
They referred to the child as "Le diable blanc" ("The white devil") and believed he was prophesied to unite the warring Thieves and Assassins Guilds. Soon after, Remy was placed in the care of Fagan's Mob, a gang of street thieves who raised the child and taught him the ways of thievery. After living as an orphan on the streets, a 10 year-old Remy attempted to pick the pocket of Jean-Luc LeBeau, then patriarch of the Thieves Guild. Jean-Luc took the boy off the streets and adopted him into his own family.
Remy's reaitsu-charging abilities manifested early in his teens, although he kept his powers secret from his family and friends, practicing his powers away from prying eyes. When he was 15, he accompanied his best friend Etienne Marceaux on his "Tilling", the ritual initiation test of the Thieves Guild. However, it went awry as they were assigned to steal from the powerful Mafia leader Moriarty. Unfortunately for the two kids, he quickly captured them. Moriarty, unfortunately, had sensed Remy's reaitsu abilities. The Moriarty, thinking that he was a Quincy, had then sold them to the deformed gangster, and child slave trader known as the pig, who planned to sell them and others their age to HYDRA as boy soldiers. Remy used his powers to escape their holding pen, but the genetically enhanced Pig quickly caught up to them. Remy discovered his signature attack when he picked up a playing card that Etienne had dropped, charged it and threw it in the Pig's face, taking out his eye. Finally escaping his clifftop headquarters by diving into the sea, Remy was ultimately rescued by the Guild; Etienne drowned.
In an attempt to reconcile the Thieves and Assassins Guilds, Remy married Bella Donna Boudreaux, granddaughter of the head Assassin, whom he had met at age 8. Unfortunately, he was challenged by her brother Julien to a duel after the wedding. In the duel, Gambit killed Julien, and he was exiled from the city, ending his relationship with Bella Donna.
After his exile from New Orleans, he wandered the world and became a master professional thief, making many contacts (and quite a few enemies). During this time as well he spent a lot of time in France where he learned and perfected hi training in Savate. As time went on Remy ended up having to go on a mission to one of France's most remote castles. To recover an artifact that had been lost due to an arrancar (which Remy had not known at the time.) While searching the castle for the book that he had been sent to get Remy ended up having to battle Moriarty. Remy did end up beating Moriarty who retreated to his secret base to recover from its wounds, but Remy ended up dieing from the injuries he received from the battle before he could return back to civilization.
The next thing that Remy remembers is waking up. At first Remy thought that he had somehow managed to make it back to the time portal and made it back to his own time. Till, that was, he looked down and saw his body staring back up at him. Remy was a little startled at seeing himself lying there, but was more upset at not finding the remains of whatever he had been fighting. A few days later, with Remy spending the time looking for Moriarty, Remy noticed a person approaching him. Remy inquired of the person if they had seen whatever happened to the thing that he had been fighting. The person, a shinigami, explained to Remy what had happened. With that the figure raised its sword and told Remy that he was going to help Remy move on. All Remy had time for was to nod before the butt off the sword hit his forehead implanting a seal there.
Remy woke soon there after. At first he had no idea who he was, but he managed to make a living in the Rukongai as a thief of sorts. Eventually Remy turned to the academy to train to become a shinigami. However, fate soon smiled on Remy. During one of the training missions to Earth Remy spotted a little boy pick-pocketing another human. Remy soon realized that he had a special set of skills that he could use for the good of all, his theivery.
Soon thereafter, came graduation. Remy was assigned to squad ___ seat ___. Remy had only been with the squad a few months when the attack on Heuco Mundo took place. So, though his missions may have faded into obscurity Remy's life has been interesting none the less.
Roleplay Sample: Remy walked out from behind the building; his trench coat billowing out in the slight breeze of the evening air. "I see some arrancar decided that, while all the other shinigami were held up attacking Heucu Mundo, they would attack the defenseless human world. Its a good thing that I decided to stay behind just in case." Remy said, his voice thick in his Cajun drawl, as he stopped in front of the arrancar holding the woman. "In any case I suggest that you drop the woman now before I am forced to do something drastic." Remy states to the arrancar as his hand goes to the hilt of his sword.
"And who might you be? And what are you going to do about it?" The arrancar asked Remy as he holds the woman out in front of him. "I seem to be holding the upper hand. And I haven't even released my sword yet......" The arrancar suddenly stops talking as his hand finds that his sword is no longer where it should be. Remy holds the arrancar's sword in his hand. "You know if you had talked any longer you might have lulled me to sleep." Remy's eyes narrow down. "As you can see my years with the Thieves Guild in Louisiana has paid off in a number of different ways. But I can see that you will not let the girl go willingly so." Remy holds a card out in front of him. "I'll give you another woman instead." The Queen of Diamonds is revealed charged with reaitsu. "She's even the rich one of the four, enjoy your diamonds!" Remy yells at the arrancar as the card flies from his hand into the chest of the arrancar; the reaitsu releasing in an explosion. Remy dashes over in time to catch the woman. "Your safe now mon cheri but I'll get you somewhere safe for now." Remy tells her in a soothing voice as he leaves the area carrying the girl in his arms. Remy drops her off a safe distance from the fight then quickly returns to find the arrancar severely pissed off at him. "Did you really think that a weak attack like that would finish an arrancar?" He calls out tauntingly.
"On the contrary I knew you would recover quickly from the attack, the purpose of the attack was to surprise you enough to release the girl which you did. Now..." Remy slides his sword out from his backpack sheath; the sound of the metal scraping on cloth loud in the silence of the night. "Now I have no reason to hold back. Denka Kisaki !" Remy calls out as he holds his sword horizontally out in front of him in a mid guard position for the release. The sword quickly lengthens into a bo-staff. "Oh just to let you know mister. I had been using a variation of kendo earlier but now you get the honor of seeing the true form that I am a master of." Remy calls out as he lets loose a vicious strike from the staff card like objects flying from the swing.
