Niriel Saiki Yachiyo

personality-humble and shy. always willing to help others out.When faced by someone in battle it takes a minute for her to get ready, but after she sets her herself, she is as determined to win as anything, never loses her calm in any situation. Her favorite pastime is to sit in a serene enviroment and soak up the peace of the world. She is extremely protective of children, allowing them to play and grow without interferance bybullies or war or hunger. Often goes into rukongai to feed and play with children there.
History/Background:
800 years ago Niriel was a normal child in a prosperous island town off the coast of Korea. She succeded in school,
had many friends, and died early. She had been helping her father on his fishing boat when a violent storm capsized the boat.
Her father woke up unconcious on the island shore a day later, but Niriel was not so lucky.
Many years later a shinigami found her struggling in rukongai south district 32. Sensing weak potential in her, he offered to her the
choice to become a shinigami. She eventualy enrolled in shinigami school, and studied there for over 100
years.
Never the best at kido or swordsmanship, Niriel struggled for a reason to become better. One day a large number of
hollow(mostly menos) managed to rip throgh the dimensions and enter rukongai, eating a large number of souls before being destroyed
by the four gatekeepers of soul society. Having been in rukongai that day, Niriel witnessed the souls being eaten and lost forever.
She decided then and there that she would become stronger for the sake of weaker souls, unable to protect themselves from horrors
like the hollows. Using kido and speed to her advantage, she managed to defeat a menos before the gatekeepers arrived.
Seeing her vast improvement, she was accepted into division 4. Slowly advancing in rank she eventualy became vice captain.
Niriel has learned less than half of the kido incantations and mastered only a handful.

by bending light

pins target to surroundings

Riyuu's personality is similar to niriel's except he has no qualms ending the existence of any being, including shinigami. He beleives more that ending evil absolutly, will ensure peace and prosperity to others. He is quick to judge and trusts his own judgement in all things. Niriel acheived bankai after she gained his trust, pushing past his (and her own) fear of trusting others and ending up wrong.
Spirit form:
release shikai command-( jiyuu (free yourself) riyuu no tamashii
when released my zanpakuto takes the shape of an angelic
bastard sword
riyuu has the ability to dull its blade at will in
its shikai form, becoming
a blunt weapon rather than a sharp one. This represents his willingness to end the life of someone he deems evil, and niriel's desire to give everyone a chance to live.
bankai- kyuukyoku chikara sonzai
(ultimate life-force)
Riyuu transforms into armor putting his trust into niriel and giving her the power to defend those she wishes to protect, giving up his willingness to end the life of the enemy.
Bankai final ability-tamashii hantei (soul verdict)
Riyu can transform Niriel's willpower into an energy that heals and regenerates her physical body. This energy can also be used to heal others, though not severe or critical wounds. This gives Niriel, incredible stamina allowing her to fight for days on end without tiring.
The downfall of this ability is that Niriel only wishes to protect others, and has to rely on outlasting her opponent to defeat them. Her offensive abilities are not strong enough to kill most opponents.
My zanpakuto represents the freedom of the soul's choice to live.

Niriel sits back and remembers back to when she was young,
"When i first became captain of the fourth division, I didn't think I could handle it. But when I first looked at all the expectant faces of the members, I knew I would do anything to keep them safe from the arrancar raids. Now I have to go and serve the spirit king, and I don't know how the fourth squad will stay safe. Am I not needed here in seretei?"
Niriel shrugs not really knowing the truth
She got up and walked to the window, looking at the fading sun on the horizon.
"Does the Spirit king really know what's best?"
Though she wished she could go back to her life when she was alive, the worlds didn't work that way. She would become stronger so she could protect those who had never experienced the joy or freedom she had.
Zeke put his arm on her shoulder
"It's time to go Niri"
Niriel turned to leave for the world beyond seretei but looked back at the sunset once more.
