Personality: the most distinctive thing about ichimaru gin's persinallity is his ever constant smile and his blatent over use of sarcasim. his eyes ever closed only open when gin is in a time of annoyance. his smile only fadding from his face when gin is EXTREMLY pissed. at anyother time gin has this demenor that earned him the name fox face.
this smille and strang behavior causes many to immediatly mistrust gin. and think that he is evil. which is pritty much true. gin who along with tourson followed aizen on a plan to destroy soul society. but never really cared about the espada so when aizen died. he just left. (this is actually more true then not i mean just watch how he acts around the espada he doesn't seem to care at all really. him toursen and aizen just veiwed the espada as pawns)

Shikai Description: the appearance of shinso never truly changes when realesed. only the length of the sword changes. when realised gin can laughnch shinso foward over emense distances with a burst of speed and a good amount of force. strong enough even to dislodge jidonbo from underneath the gate he was gaurding. this weapon actually breacks the third law of motion seeng as gin suffers no recoil from launching forth his blade. one launched this sword can maintain its size in this way it can be used for crowed controll or even just a longer sword.

History/Background:
Gin saved Rangiku Matsumoto from starvation when they were children, and the two have been good friends since then. Rangiku is the only person Gin seems to truly care about, although he seems to "disappear" often, as Rangiku puts it. He also never tells her where he's going. Gin was considered a child prodigy since he graduated from the academy within a year and was assigned to a seated position in the 5th Division. Gin killed the 3rd seat of the division with ease, which aroused Aizen's interest in him. Before he became captain of the 3rd Division, he served under Captain Sōsuke Aizen as the lieutenant of 5th Division. A lesser point is his constant talks with Byakuya Kuchiki, which Rukia believes he did specifically to unsettle her since she was afraid of him
even with command of his own squad gin remained loyal to aizen and when the time was right gin aizen and toursen betrayed soul society. adn began to help create the espada. however even then it seemed that gin played no real part in aizens plans. when the battle came aizen was killed. and gin dissapeared he felt that he was loyal to aizen not the espada. and with aizen now dead. he felt no need to return to the huco mundo. instead gin uses his old gigai modiefied to hide his rietsu and lives in an apartment in karakura town. not really caring to be found by ether side. the way he sees it if soul societty found him hed be imprisioned or killed. if the arrancar found him hed be labled a tratior to the cause and they would try to kill him. so instead he just lives out a life of an exile.

gins smile was weaker these days it seemed the former captains smile wasn't quit as large. ichimaru gin sat back in his apartment there wasn't much here that gin liked. he longed to be back at soul society fighting was the one thing gin had been good at in his life. his eyebrow twitched in annoyance. "an out cast...becouse im an evil traitor... theres nothing for me to do anymore". his voice was a low growl.
he sighed but his smille was only dulled he still couldn't believe that aizen was dead. since that day gins spirits were basically broken. probably the only reason soul soceity had let him live. he no longer posed a threat. "well at least i still have my health.. not like it matters... the soul societies not the type of place to give me a second chance". he sighed he wanted nothing more then to be able to fight again but the moment he revealed himself would be the moment he would be executed. nothing annoyed him more then this. he got up and drew shinso. if nothing more then to just look at his weapon. "one day shinso... we will be let back onto the battle field i promise you".
