History: Yoh was able to see spirits from birth. in fact, there was a spirit present at his birth. his father. when he was born he cried, until his father touched his forehead and told him to be quiet.
when yoh turned 4, his grandpa decided to train him in the arts of the Shaman. he could unite forces with souls, to fight or do other stuff, like cooking or making a sword.
when yoh turned 6, his training was complete. but he didn't give much for the art of the Shaman anymore. he lived as a normal boy, which his grandfather had foreseen. so he had prepared a bootcamp for yoh. when yoh turned 16, he was ready for the Shaman life and moved to the USA to become Shaman King, but this dream was cut off, as he had died during his battle against another shaman.
3 years of wandering as a soul, he was devoured by a hollow and became 1 himself. he was dragged to Hueco Mundo where he wandered. fighting other hollows and devouring them was what he did best. and he soon started evolving. he became stronger and stronger, until the point that something nice happened to him. he was set to a trial which would either devour him or evolve him to a Gillian level Menos Grande. him having a simple hollow's brain he accepted and soon overcame the trial, becoming a gillian.
for some reason he had kept his sense as a gillian, and kept devouring others. after 60 years of devouring other gillians he turned smaller and didn't know why. he tought he had downgraded. and jumped the trees to jump through the ceiling into the white desert.
as he reached the white desert, he felt the need to devour even more hollows, and so he did. he fought and devoured millions of hollows for over, 30 years now. when he decided to give up. then he met a gang that told him that if he gave up, that he would downgrade to gillian and would never be able to go back. Yoh didn't know what to say, until now he thought he had downgraded. but he had actually evolved to an Adjuchas.
with the gang he travelled for another 100 years and by now he had devoured over billions of hollows. and when he and the gang thought all hope was lost. the gang, thinking Yoh was the strongest and their leader, asked him to also devour them. as a last resort before they all gave up and turned back to Gillians. but these last hollows were the last triggers. he grew smaller and didn't know what was going on. he asked the others. they told him that he had become the highest rank of hollow, a Vasto Lorde. Yoh soon after saw Las Noched and brought his gang there, hoping there would be a way they couldn't degrade. and he found one. he saw the hougyoku. an object that would grant them the power to try and achieve shinigami powers. most of them passed the trial and became Arrancars, but 2 didn't make it and were turned back into mindless Gillians. Yoh, realizing there hatred towards degrading, gave them his excuse and killed both of them.
