Personality: Lucid and Intelligent. Secretive yet a very blunt person. does not like to talk alot. is only concerned with things that matter anything else is trivial and irrelevant. a good trait about him is that he has an undying loyalty to those he owes a debt to, never going back on his word. However Unlike his Zanpakuto which is bloodthirsty and battle-hungry he much rather focus his mind on other things since he thinks raising his sword to kill has no purpose.
Appearance: Standard Shinigami Outfit. Wears SMC battle Uniform underneath. Has Medium Length (shoulders) Taft Black hair and two small crimson bangs that hang over each eye. has a Light/Medium Complexion. His eyes are colored amber and he has no facial hair except for a small beard on his chin. His age in soul society is around 219, visual age would make it seem like he's in his early 20's. on his feet he wears ninja tobi as apposed to the standard straw slippers.
Zanpakutô Spirit: Ouja no Fuka (King of Sharks) a Giant Spiritual Shark in the Form of Flowing Water. since The Zanpaktou's name is a title having conversations with it is rather annoying. It is bloodthirsty and battle-hungry. It's inner world is similar to that of an underwater cave filled with darkness and strong water currents. Is rarely visited from their conflicting personalities.
Through unlocking of his bankai it's appearance is much more solid and it has become a pearl-white shark larger than megalodon with a horn-blade in the shape of a crescent protruding from the tip of the nose and extending to the tip of the dorsal fin.
Sealed Zanpakutô : a 4 ft Nodachi 12in hilt 35.6 inch blade. Standard Blade however there is no hand guard but has a separate blade sticking out from the bottom of the blade resembling a Shark's tooth. purplish hilt and a black tassel.
Shikai Description: The Nodachi loses it's curved edge and points straight (like a longsword) but only has one sharp edge instead of two. the Edge of the blade gains many rivets along the blade path similar to the teeth of the shark lined up in a row. there is now an existing handguard and a small 2 inch blade @ the end of the hilt. The teeth in this Shikai form vibrate at a high frequency due to Ranimaru's reiatsu around 4 million times a second. This makes Ouja no Fuka's sword breaker features. much more deadly. the command for this technique is Kishire (grind)
Release Phrase: Danpe Tame KireGire (Tear To Shreds)
It's abilities are 1/2 melee due to it's look as a longsword/swordbreaker and to freely manipulate water from the base zanpakutou using the user's reiatsu.
#1 Mizu Jetto Misairu (water Jet Missile)-a Downward Slash that releases a Torrent of Water to crash down on opponents because the water is filled with the user's reiatsu the direction can be controlled as well as the force. As a branch move Ranimaru can stick Ouja no Fuka into the ground and shoot water below the earth and make it shoot up in various areas like a geyser without losing force. Because this isn't an official move Ranimaru has only a simple command for it. *Burst*
#2 Tsunami se Fuka Shikon (Tsunami Torrent Shark Fang)- With a Simple Invoked Sword Slash a Jet of water Spews from the blade and forms into a body of a Shark formed from the reiatsu and like a shark bites into the opponent with enormous water pressure capable of breaking through steel and the like. The shark shaped blast can be manipulated to a degree where it can split up into multiple but smaller shaped sharks for multiple hits. This effect applies the same if someone slices the shark's body part's seeing it's made from water. This not being an official move is called out by saying *Frenzy*
#3 Dekishi (death by drowning)- a technique Ouja no fuka can use once in a released state. when making locked contact with ouja no fuka's bladed teeth if the opponent remains close enough. the opponent is encased in an inescapable orb of reiatsu filled water. there are several specific ways to escape, use spiritual pressure that is greater then the person who encased you. using a fire zanpakutou to vaporize the water or an ice zanpkutou to freeze the water then escape through brute force. the person captured will eventually drown if one of the appropriate actions isn't taken.
This technique has evolved further to make a less dangerous possibility for the user. During Rain fall or fighting on water or in water. Ouja no fuka can control the water in the area so long as ouja no fuka is connected to water as is the target. it has turned to an omni range technique whether it be short/med/long.
#4 Kaiyou Rokujou (Ocean's Fury)- This technique is experimental to Ranimaru for the fact he can't control it this technique bears the actual essence of a typhoon in it's power. When used a single downward or upward slash is invoked. and creates a crescent shaped water blast of high pressurized water that can break through steel, This move however can be used in sucession until the user tires or decide's to end their attack. Thats why it's hard to control if you fire in rapid sucession.
Release: Danpe Tame Kiregire (Tear to Shreds)
Bankai: Enkai Soudai Ouja no Fuka (Ocean's Grand King of Sharks) The sword doesnt actually change in appearance but the sword can liquify and become water at any time allowing it to pass through clashed swords and etc. It also gains a mirror blade on the opposite end of the hilt created from constantly moving Highly pressurized water condensed with reiatsu giving it the same cutting power or even greater than a normal blade. Ranimaru's appearance also changes his shinigami outfit becomes embroidered with Wave designs all around and a Giant shark along his back. He looks more untamed in this fashion since his demeanor resembles more so of Ouja no Fuka's personality.
Ranimaru's previous skills are augmented to the highest degree of control and power. each wave of water that hits feels as if you took the centrifugal force of a tsunami in each blow. As a defensive technique Ranimaru's body can form and re-form as water making blows go right through him.
Water Free Form Control - This ability allows Ouja no fuka to control water to an exponential degree. It can take water condensed in the air, Take water from oceans and etc., or rainfall to repair itself or use for attack. It can also freely change the temperature of the water. Making it Scalding hot or freezing cold. Ranimaru has mastered his water craft to the degree where although he cant create, he can however manipulate ice as it's a form of water. If it came down to an Ice user vs Ranimaru The person with more will power wins.
Most attacks alike are typically useless to this because the water he turns his body into he's also controlling it changing it's temperature and pressure constantly to suit his needs. Whether it be a fire zanpakutou or an ice he can re-form the water molecules in his body to be highly pressurized and douse any flame or heat up the water molecules to melt even the greatest ice.
Doing this takes a great toll on Ranimaru in no way can he constantly just turn into water and dodge attacks multiple times he usually only uses it for times of great danger or is in the brink of death.
Kabei no Poseidon (Walls of Poseidon)- This is the only defensive technique in ranimaru's Arsenal. A Tsunami wave forms behind Ranimaru creating a 70 ft tall 30x30 ft wall of updrafting water around,below, and above ranimaru and all within. This technique is meant to keep all foreign things out unless allowed entry by ranimaru and keep all within. walking directly into the water without caution will send the person up into the air being forced up by the water below.
History/Background: Ranimaru was formally a member of the SMC (Secret Mobile Corps) Around the time Yoruichi Shihoin was captain of the 2nd division and S.M.C During a Mission, something went horribly wrong and his team was slaughtered by hollows with nowhere to go he abandoned his fallen comrades and turned tail. He did not return for he knew he would be executed for failing and leaving his comrades. During his escape he Ran into Yoruichi-sama and begged for his life. On a whim she let him go under the condition he never come back to the SMC and forced him to become a Shinigami under the 13 protection squads. for that he is eternally grateful to her and waits for her return to soul society.
Ironically he is serving under the 2nd division's captain Soifon who inherently is the leader of the SMC. He is currently Un-seated even though his skills can easily be considered 3rd seat or even vice-captain level. He has done this intentionally to distance himself away from the SMC until he can change squads.
It has been many months but Ranimaru was finally able to switch from the 2nd division under Ceon's command to the 5th squad and kidou corps under Captain oodoro zoro. Time has passed since then and Ranimaru had fought countless battles, made rivals, and went through amazing times. He at one point became 5th squad VC until Momo Hinamori came back from recovery where he'd een serving as the 3rd seat to Captain zoro. the two had a very good relationship as of late spending hours together training or doing missions together. as of the tides of fate events Oodora Zoro is not found anywhere. While Ranimaru questions what happened to his captain. It seems he was facing problems of his own as he learned his captain had joined the vizards. It was in a sense heart breaking to Ranimaru. The man he devoted loyalty to switching sides to the enemy. all he could wonder is why didnt zoro take him with him.
Currently Ranimaru is the Kidou corps Vice General and still remains in 5th squad serving uder his new captain Roiben Ryu.

What are you doing!!! We still have to complete the mission Follow me we'll destroy these hollows and..." before Ranimaru could comprehend he saw a Giant Hollow besides Gozu and tried to warn him ," Gozu!! Behind You!!!!!" Huh? What?! Argh!!! * Gozu screams right as he is cleaved in half by the enormous hollow.
*I have to leave he thought, I have to live...* As Ranimaru sprinted into the forest, three hollows who had finished their meals prematurely had decided to chase after him. Ranimaru knowing full well he couldn't keep running from the hollows had decided to himself to use his training and fight the pursuing hollows. As Ranimaru came to a Halt the 3 hollows converged and surrounded him drooling as if they couldn't wait to tear into him. They all spoke, bickering amongst each other of who'd get what. "I want his legs!!" One Proclaimed." You'll get what we decide to give if you keep yapping" Another yelled out.
Yo! Ranimaru yelled out who said you'll be getting anything from me. If I give you anything it'll be the blade of my sword. Enraged the hollows Charged!! "Devour him!" They all yelled. Within that second Ranimaru charged and Sliced off one of the hollows arm. As it yelled in pain it backed off as the two other hollow continued their charges. Since Ranimaru was already in mid-air he used his weight to push him down with accelerated force and cleave one of the hollows in half immediately dissipating into the atmosphere.The hollow Ranimaru had previously cut returned and attempted to smash him with a foot stomp. Ranimaru dodge rolled out the way and dashed towards the hollow and cut off it's head in one fell swoop.
The last hollow had stopped it's charge and analyzed the situation and used a sweeping motion to catch Ranimaru off guard. knowing he was going to get injured due to the hollows wild and rapid movement prepared a counter-attack using a downward slash. The hollow simply held his left left arm to take the hit and punched Ranimaru sending him flying into a tree. Despite the gruesome slash on his arm the hollow taunted Ranimaru simply stating is that all you can do? Ha! Ranimaru used his sword to get up and asked the hollow," Was all you saw one slash?" a mere second later blood spewed from all points on the hollows body as it screamed out," Curse You!!!".
