The air was still. The quietness of the night was broken by crickets chirping. The moon stood high above the Soul Society, as if it was guarding the peaceful realm. Its inhabitants were sound asleep, except for a few. Some where robbing shops, some training. But not two. These two were on top of a rooftop somewhere within the Seireitei. It was a man and a woman, with the man towering over the woman. The woman had short black hair with two long braids extending from the back of her hair. The man had short black hair and a pair of square-rimmed sunglasses over his eyes. In an instant, the man knelt on one knee and held out a small box. Inside the box, a sparkling sapphire was placed upon a ring of white gold. Inside the ring, there was an inscription, which has never been truly known. The woman's eyes grew large, and showed her surprise. The man whispered four words to her. She smiled, a rare thing to see on her face, and said a single word. The man slipped the ring out of the box and placed it on the appropriate finger. The man was the current Lieutenant of the Thirteenth Division of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, more commonly called the Gotei 13. His name was Tsubine Zanifir von Zarkonheinz. The woman was more matured than he was. She was the new Captain of the Second Division of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. Her original name was Shaolin Fong, but her current name was Soi Fon.
The two had been in love for a few years now. Though only a few people knew of it.
