In his patented entrance, a large, black abyss-like portal opened up, and out of it walked Alfons, the ex-shinigami, right outside of Karakura town. Looking up towards the sky, Alfons noted the normal weather, taking into account his surroundings. As the portal closed behind him, Alfons began to walk slowly forward, closer to the town. As always, his pace was slow and calculating, as if he was in no hurry, and indeed, he wasn't. "Hmm, yes, yes, time for some more research" he said to himself, stopping to observe his surroundings again, as if to look for anything he might have overlooked.
