(The Iramasha Clan Symbol)
Over Ten Thousand years ago two very powerful beings came together. One was an Angelic being and the other was a Demonic Being. They had come together because they had wanted to prove to the world that Angels and demons could overcome their differences and become unified.
What they wanted...was peace.
So these two beings went out to form their own clan. A clan of Angels and Demons living together in peace and harmony. They had taken an enormous piece of floating ground from the Angelic Dimension where the Angel Leader had once resided in, a few followers; along with their wives and they had ran away to the Soul Society and placed this large piece of earth high above in the clouds, hidden by a barrier.
Thus, The Iramasha Clan was born.
Before the original founders of the Iramasha Clan died, though, they sealed all of their powers into two sets of gems. The Angelic Emeralds and The Demonic Emeralds. If the clan should ever face any serious danger, or if the world was threatened, they would use these emeralds to combat that evil.
As years went by after the original founders death, this clan grew in numbers and strength. With each passing generation, the clan became stronger. Gaining new techniques, ability's, and obtaining the Angel form and The Demon Angel Form.
Although, when it finally came down to Raiden and Nobu's generation, things got twisted.

For some reason other another Nobu, The Angel Leader at the time, had gone insane with power. Before their leader disappeared under mysterious circumstances, they had noticed serious changes in his personality once he obtained this unknown power. He had become sadistic, cruel, mentally unstable and insane.
Then, almost at the same time Nobu disappeared, Raiden did as well. A full scale investigation was launched, but it did not lead any clues as to their disappearances.
So the only thing could do was appoint their eldest sons as leaders of the clan when they grew older.
Those two people were Halo Iramasha and Ketsu Iramasha

Although, most of the clan had feared and hated Ketsu due to the fact that the Elders of clan foretold a prophecy that Ketsu would be the end of their clan due to a highly powerful being of death named, Touketsu, who was sealed inside him.

So, after birth, The Elders had placed a curse on Ketsu's body that would hopefully kill him one day.
As more time passed Ketsu had lead a very hard life. Often his darker side kept most of the clan from killing him, until finally one day The Elders of the clan ordered an entire group of Iramasha's, lead by Ketsu's own mother, to eliminate Ketsu.
But, this assassination attempt failed as Ketsu and Dark Ketsu killed everyone in that group. When he finally killed his mother, the pain had become too much for him to bearand he snapped letting Dark Ketsu take control.
After he took control, Dark Ketsu went out and destroyed Half Of The Iramasha Clan. The only thing that stopped him was Halo using Chaos Soul to tame the darkness within Ketsu.
Once Ketsu gained control over his body again, he left the clan.He was not seen for hundreds of years until Halo finally found him 3 years ago and repaired the clans relationship with him with the help of Ketsu's Lover, Inuyami. After the battle with Nero he had become Leader of The Demon Iramasha's.
And that's a brief look into the Iramasha Clan's history.
(Although there is a lot more to the story then meets the eye.)
